The Drive it Home Campaign received a big boost Friday to help spread the message that they want another product at GM Lordstown. 

Support for GM Lordstown continues to be shown across the Valley and a new business in the village where the plant calls home is showing how they too are Lordstown strong.

In a ceremony Friday afternoon at the UAW union hall, the Lordstown Energy Center presented a $15,000 check to the Drive it Home Campaign.

The goal behind the campaign is to show General Motors that the company should continue to invest in the plant by bringing in a new product and that the employees here are ready and up for the task.

“In order to run a successful campaign you know, you do need some funding and I appreciate the Lordstown energy center for stepping forward,” said Lordstown Mayor Arno Hill.

“It’s to give back to people that supported us,” said Drew Schneider, plant manager of Lordstown Energy Center.

The money donated will be put toward marketing expenses for things like signs, social media and other awareness efforts.
