WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — A Leavittsburg man remains in jail accused of a violent sexual assault from over the summer.
Hunter Hauck was indicted on two counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment Thursday morning.
Prosecutors say Hauck is accused of sexually assaulting, kidnapping and raping a woman at the group home he was living at in Warren Township on July 16.
Prosecutors also say Hauck has cognitive defects and receives services from the Department of Developmental Disabilities.
“There’s an allegation that he used a knife to commit this offense. Judge Rice agreed that the allegations were serious and is holding him without bond,” said Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman.
Prosecutors say Hauck’s attorneys asked the court for a competency evaluation. He’s scheduled to be back in court for a pre-trial on Sept. 6.
