Volunteer fire department in Trumbull County returns to staffing level it had before pandemic

Local News

MINERAL RIDGE, Ohio (WKBN) – The fire department in Weathersfield Township will be returning to the staffing levels it had before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Mineral Ridge Volunteer Fire Department has always been run by volunteer firefighters.

The department got relief money during the pandemic, which they used to staff firefighters during the day.

That money is no longer coming in, so the department has gone back to the way it was before.

Editor’s note: This story is corrected to show the fire department has always been volunteer.
