BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A socially distant, all-inclusive trunk or treat was held at Rulli Brothers in Boardman Sunday.
It was the third annual All-Inclusive Trunk or Treat hosted by Miss Dana’s Diamonds and Elissa’s Entourage.
Volunteers decorated their trunks to hand out candy and prizes to kids from all across the Valley.
This event’s goal was to give every child the experience of Halloween, especially children with disabilities or special needs who might not be able to participate in traditional trick or treat activities.
It was a great event for children and families with food allergies, special diets or special needs.
There were also sensory prizes given away.
“Kids had a harder time going door-to-door trick or treating. You know, they just couldn’t go up the steps or maybe they are limited in their speech in what they can say or they’re nervous around other kids. So, having this event, we were able to offer, to give those children a chance to really experience a positive experience for Halloween,” said Dana Winters, event director.
Winters said the money raised from Sunday’s inclusive trick or treat will be donated to the Walnut Grove and Easter Seals.
