YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A local business hosted a free gas giveaway for Mother’s Day this weekend.

Steel Valley Moving and Al Ray’s Auto Shop sponsored the event. All mothers received $10 worth of free gas. 

Organizers say the hope is to bring more positivity to the community.

“Just showing our appreciation because it’s important for us to let the mothers know we thank them for taking care of our children and thank our mothers for even having us, so it’s important. I always try to do something every year,” organizer Boston Walker said.

Walker said they planned to give away $1,200 worth of gas, but also that no one would be turned away.
