A local artist known for sketching tribute portraits for victims of tragic circumstances has drawn pictures of two Hermitage teens who died in an accident on Interstate 80 in Mercer County.

Ron Moore, Jr., of Austintown, has just finished portraits of Alexis Myers and Danielle Nelson. Both girls were passengers in an SUV that collided with a semi-truck Sunday on I-80  in Lackawannock Township.

Moore will present the portraits to the families of the teens free of charge.

“I’m blessed to have this artistic gift, even though I have Parkinson’s disease. They were very challenging, but the physical pain I had while working on these was nothing compared what the families are experiencing,” Moore said.

Moore has most recently sketched portraits of five children who died in a house fire in Youngstown.  He also paid tribute to the victims of a church shooting in Texas.
