Liberty police: Man charged with breaking into Valley Counseling Services

LIBERTY, Ohio (WKBN) – A man is charged with breaking into Valley Counseling Services in Liberty on Saturday morning.

Daniel Hiles, 65, is charged with breaking and entering and possessing criminal tools.

Liberty police went to the business on Belmont Avenue around 5 a.m. because an alarm had gone off.

When officers got there, they said they found a broken window and Hiles inside the building.

They ordered him to come out with his hands up and he did.

Police said Hiles had two flashlights on him, along with some money, which he took from a cash box inside.

Officers said they also found a sledgehammer near the front door.

Hiles was booked into the Trumbull County Jail on Saturday.
