Liberty family puts up billboard in search of woman’s killer

LIBERTY TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – Advertising a reward for a crime. A Liberty murder victim’s family is hoping that by getting the word out, information needed to solve the case will come in.

Billboards in six locations in both Mahoning and Trumbull counties along busy roads like Mahoning Avenue and Route 422 are spreading the word.

The family of Loraine Lynn hopes they can help generate tips to find her killer. The family is even offering a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

“[We hope] that a person will see those and be motivated by the $20,000 reward to turn in the murder with evidence,” said Diane Pullin, Lynn’s sister.

Lynn was found in Liberty Township in August of 2017 face down in a pond on her mother’s property near a tractor.

Her death was initially ruled accidental, but in 2018, the late Trumbull County Coroner Humphrey Germaniuk changed it saying she died at the hands of someone else because the crime scene looked staged.

“I would ask they please tell Det. Ray Buhala what they know so we can have closure,” Pullin said.

“We’re hoping someone knows information about what happened, may have saw something, whatever. Whatever information they have we’re gonna follow up on,” said Liberty Township Police Chief Toby Meloro.

Information can be passed along through the Liberty Police Department’s tip line at 330-539-9830.

The billboard company, Lamar, paid for the billboard itself, and the family is willing to pay the $20,000 reward.
