Krish Mohip’s Youngstown City Schools CEO run ends early

Local News

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Krish Mohip is no longer running the Youngstown City Schools.

The district said on Wednesday that he is on family medical leave that will likely run until his contract expires on July 31.

Chief Academic Officer Christine Sawicki will run the day-to-day operations in the district until the new CEO, Justin Jennings, takes over on August 1.

In October, Mohip announced he would be stepping down this summer when his contract was up. He said Youngstown has been his biggest challenge.

Mohip started with Youngstown City Schools in 2016 when the state created a CEO position to oversee the struggling district.
