YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A jury found a Youngstown man guilty of chasing down and assaulting a teenager.
The jury returned the guilty verdict on Tuesday afternoon.
Nisevich chased and punched a boy walking home from East High School last May.
He said in court that he was chasing Christopher Baker, who broke his American flag and stole his cell phone.
Baker, who was part of the Junior ROTC program at East High, said he never touched Nisevich’s flags and did not steal his cell phone. Baker told the jury that Nisevich shouted racial slurs at him after the assault.
“He said he was tired of all us ‘n-words’ coming on his property,” Baker said.
The racial slurs and the cell phone were not mentioned in the police report.
Nisevich will be sentenced at 10 a.m. June 5.
