Investigators work to identify cigarette thief in Hartford Township

Local News

The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office is trying to figure out who stole racks of cigarettes from a convenience store in Hartford Township.

It happened between 10 p.m. Wednesday night and 4 a.m. Thursday morning at the Five Points Country Convenience Store along State Route 305.

Investigators say it appears the suspect got in by breaking a drive-thru window.

Surveillance video shows what appears to be a man wearing something over his face and a red and black jacket putting cartons of cigarettes into a trash can, which investigators say he brought with him.

“Sometimes people who commit crimes make the mistake of telling people what they do and if anybody has information about this crime I would urge them to call the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office,” said Det. Sgt. Mike Yannucci.

Investigators ask you call 330-675-7087 with any information about the break-in.
