Looking back on old memories made some visitors of the Idora Park exhibit at the Tyler History Museum think about starting a reunion.
With help from the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, Jim Amey of the Idora Experience said the party is on.
“Finally, after a while it stuck, okay, we’re going to do that. So we got together with Mahoning Valley Historical Society and we’re sponsoring concessions, rides, whatever, and we even have an actual sign from Idora Park reserved for employees,” he said.
The reunion will be held on June 2 at 4:30 p.m. at the Tyler History Center in Youngstown. The price is $15 per person and they will have a caterer.
Amey said so far, the event looks like a success.
“Right now, we’re close to 100 people who have signed up,” he said.
On May 19-20 the Idora Park Experience was held in Canfield Township. The event was from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the entrance fee is $5.
Amey said there are new and old items there.
“There’s a new wildcat car, we have a new game — a helicopter game the people can play. We have the turtle that was from last time. Little things that people have donated to us that are so cool — the skate box,” he said.
The experience is at his home at 4450 South Turner Rd. in Canfield.
