Hubbard students wins Chip and Joanna Gaines contest

A sophomore from Hubbard High School is one of the 2018 winners of a video contest held by HGTV reality stars Chip and Joanna Gaines.

The couple is known for their hit TV show Fixer Upper, which aired its last season this past spring.

While writing his book, Capital Gaines, Chip decided to start a contest called Chipstarter to help people pursue their dreams. Contest entries involved people uploading a video explaining what their dream was and how they needed Chip’s help kick-starting it.

In September, Hubbard student Zachary Jones submitted a video about his dream of being a videographer.

He then traveled to Waco, Texas to attend Magnolia Market’s Silobration, hosted by Chip and Joanna, where he learned he was a winner.

The couple awarded Jones with $8,906, enough to cover expenses for new camera and video equipment for Jones’ dream.
