HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) – Hubbard city police are working to identify the men involved in a robbery at a convenience store late Tuesday night.
Police searched an area of Hubbard for two people whom they believe robbed the Shell gas station on West Liberty Street around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators say an officer spotted a man getting into a car on a nearby road. When police tried pulling the vehicle over, the driver took off. Two men got out of the car and ran once they reached the dead end of West Park Avenue.
Officers were unable to locate them after checking the area on Myron Street near Pine Lakes Golf Club thoroughly.
K-9 units, Ohio State Highway Patrol choppers and multiple police units searched the area.
Police have not made an arrest yet, but the car has been towed as evidence.
“They should turn themselves in, obviously. … We’re coming after them, and we’re going to find them,” said Hubbard police Chief Bob Thompson.
Police are asking for nearby residents with security cameras to check their footage for any evidence that might help officials find the suspects.
“If they have evidence that they could provide for us, we’d greatly appreciate it,” Thompson said.
Anyone with information is asked to give Hubbard City Police Department a call.
