Home Savings announced a series of sponsored events that will be coming to the new Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre this summer.

The Community Event Series will open up the downtown venue’s inaugural season. 

According to a media release, some of the events in the series will have a small admission fee and others will be free to the public. 

The amphitheater will first host First Look Friday, a free concert that invites the community to check out the venue on June 14. There will be performances by local and regional artists, including The Sensations, GEO C and The Storm. 

The Youngstown Wine and Jazz Festival will be held on July 13, celebrating a summer tradition in the city. The event is held in conjunction with the YSU Festival of the Arts. 

Drive-In Movie Night will be held on July 27, featuring a showing of the 1993 classic “Jurassic Park.” The event is hosted by The Youngstown Summer Movie Series and the City of You. 

The City of You- Funk, Soul and R&B Night will be held on August 17, featuring the Ohio Players. Tickets will cost $10.

Free Friday Throw Back will be held on September 13. The retro disco night featuring Disco Infernos will be free admission.

Youth Spoken Word & Poetry Festival will be held on September 28. The event was founded by The Colony of Youngstown and will showcasr the City of You and youth in the Valley.
