Take what you need, leave what you can, that's the idea of "Pay it Forward" boxes

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — One local business owner is continuing to ‘pay it forward’ to help those in need.

These boxes can be seen around Mahoning County.

Take what you need, leave what you can, that’s the idea of “Pay it Forward” boxes.

The latest box has been put up and filled in Boardman with non-perishable donation items.

Joe Danyi is the owner of Youngstown Computer in Struthers. He and his son Ryan started the idea two years ago.

“It just really took us by surprise seeing how many people didn’t have enough to eat. And there’s soup kitchens, missions, but this is open 24 hours a day. So people, anytime, in the middle of the night can come and get something if they would need it,” said Danyi.

‘Pay it forward’ boxes can be found at the following locations:

  • Boardman — 7580 Glenwood Ave.
  • Struthers — 600 Youngstown-Poland Rd.
  • North Lima — 11839 South Ave.
