House damaged in Trumbull County fire

WEATHERSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Firefighters battled flames at a house in Weathersfield Township Friday.

Crews were called around midnight to the home on Salt Springs Road.

A man who used to live there died a while ago, so the house was vacant.

“Where the fire started down below and how the fire started it was suspicious in nature, still pending on the outcome from the State Fire Marshals Office,” said Chief Tom Lambert.

Most of the fire damage was contained to the first floor, but there is smoke damage throughout the house.
