In Niles, a group of people gathered outside of a bar to remember the woman shot and killed there early Sunday morning.
Britney Mazanec left behind two small children. Those who loved her want everyone to know she was a good mother.
Mazanec lost her life outside of The Hideaway Lounge off of Route 422. But on Wednesday night, that’s where more than 40 of her friends and family members came to show how much they loved her.
People took time to hug, light candles and remember the 33-year-old.
A memorial of balloons, flowers and notes is growing outside. A sign near the bar now reads, “We Love You Britney .”
Mazanec’s mother, Tammy Stone, said seeing so many people come out to support her daughter is helping her heart heal, but this night was also for Mazanec’s two kids.
“That just overflows my heart. I mean, this was for the kids. For the kids to see how much love there is out there and that they weren’t the only ones hurting from this,” Stone said.
“She was always smiling. She was a happy lady,” said Miguel Sanchez, one of Mazanec’s friends.
He said she always cared for her kids, making them her number one priority.
