Final W.A.R.N. notices sent to remaining GM Lordstown workers

Worker Adjustment and Retraining notices were sent out to the remaining 26 employees at General Motors Lordstown.

Layoffs for the 15 hourly and 11 salaried employees will begin May 31, 2019. All production at the plant ceased in March.

The notice says the layoffs are permanent.

Jobs impacted include:


Production – 10
Pipefitter – 2
Die maker – 1
Electrician – 1
Millwright – 1


Sr. controls engineer – 2
Body shop planner – 1
Maintenance coordinator – 1
Paint resident engineer – 1
Sr. paint process engineer – 1
Facilities management rep. – 1
Change implementation coordinator – 1
On leave – 4

For hourly workers, seniority and bumping rights are being handled according to the union contract. According to GM, it is possible that all impacted employees can be placed at other GM plants.

There are no bumping rights for salaried employees.
