FBI, police trying to identify Youngstown bank robber

The FBI has released surveillance photos of the robbery of Home Savings and Loan on McCartney Road in Youngstown.

It happened around 9:15 a.m. Thursday. 

FBI Special Agent Lisa Hack said a man with a gun robbed the bank and took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. He fired a shot inside the bank, but no one was injured and no customers were inside at the time. 

Hack described the suspect as a black man in his 20s, approximately 5’8″ and 150 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, gray coat, black gloves and a blue bandana covering his face. He was also wearing aqua-colored Nike tennis shoes with white soles. 

Anyone with information as to the identity of the robber is asked to call Youngstown Police Detective Bobby Gentile at 330-742-8236, or the Federal Bureau of Investigation at 330-965-2940.
