Famous alumnus donates instruments to Liberty High School

Local News

Tuba players in the Liberty High School band have new instruments, thanks to a famous alumnus.

Jerry DePizzo, who plays guitar and saxophone for the band O.A.R., graduated from Liberty High School.

He has made several donations to his alma mater, including the three brand-new Yamaha Concert Tubas that were delivered on Friday.

Superintendent Joseph Nohra said O.A.R. has done a lot to help the band.

“It’s a very expensive curricular program, being in the band, and marching in the band is also expensive, so their help, without their help, I don’t think we could do it,” he said.
