Facebook messenger is rolling out a new feature. It’s called “dark mode.”
Simply put, it switches the color of the chat display from white to black.
Users can turn on the dark mode through a toggle switch in their settings, through their profile photo.
Previously, the “dark mode” feature could only be accessed via an easter egg activation where users had to send a crescent-moon emoji.
Fans of “dark mode” say it cuts down on glare, while Google claims the mode could help save battery life on Android phones.
