EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN) – A captain with the East Liverpool Police Department is on leave pending a court case where he is charged with harassment by electronic device in West Virginia.

The Hancock County prosecutor confirms that Chad Tatgenhorst was charged and arraigned last week.

He has another hearing Oct. 18.

Tatengorst turned himself in to police in New Cumberland, West Virginia last week and then went directly to court.

East Liverpool Police Chief John Lane said Tatgenhorst was put on paid administrative leave on Aug. 31 and will remain on leave until his case is resolved.
