The Boxcar Lounge inside the B&O Station in downtown Youngstown just launched its own kitchen.
Known for its barbeque sauce, the restaurant will incorporate it into dishes like ribs and hand dipped chicken tenders — a staple of the menu.
Other items like flatbreads, salads and appetizers will be seasonal, using produce from local farmers.
“Not only is it fun for us to source locally and to help other local businesses, but also, I think people like to jump behind a business that is doing that. So it kind of all goes together in trying to make Youngstown a better place,” said Catherine Fetter, Boxcar Lounge managing partner.
On Wednesdays, the Boxcar Lounge offers 20 percent off to first responders.
