Customer points gun at would-be Neshannock Twp. bank robber, scaring him away

It happened at the PNC Bank on Wilmington Road Wednesday afternoon

NESHANNOCK TWP., Pa. (WKBN) - A customer with a gun scared away a potential robber at PNC Bank in Neshannock Township Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Officers are looking for a tall, thin, black man who they said came into the bank on Wilmington Road around 2:30 p.m. with some type of mask over his face.

He told the teller to put all of the money into a bag, according to police.

Officers said at that point, a customer pointed a gun at the man and demanded he drop the bag and lay on the floor.

The robber did what the customer told him to but then jumped up and ran away into the woods, police said.

Investigators found out his getaway car, a silver Toyota Corolla with Ohio registration, was waiting several blocks away.

He did not get away with any money and no one was hurt.
