YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Crews are demolishing a landmark bank building at the corner of Market Street and Midlothian Boulevard in Youngstown Monday morning.

The building, which was formerly the First Federal Savings Bank, is coming down and a Dunkin’ will be built in its place.

“The material we are knocking down on this building is a lot of hard fill, so we are going to recycle it and sell it at a discounted rate back to the community,” said Cosmo Iamurri, with Pro Quality Demolition.

The demolition will take two to three weeks because of the all the concrete and rebar.

The Western Reserve Port Authority recently took ownership of the property but said renovating it would have cost too much.

Another business, possibly another fast food franchise, is also being planned for the site.
