Teenage driver hits pole, temporarily closing road in Canfield

Investigators say she had a possible medical condition at the time of the crash

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – A one-car accident temporarily shut down Leffingwell Road in Canfield.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. The road was closed between State Route 46 and South Raccoon Road for a short time but reopened at 8:55 a.m.

The driver was a 17-year-old girl.

Investigators say she had a possible medical condition at the time of the crash and was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman.

The car crashed into a pole, and Ohio Edison was called to the scene to make repairs.

The Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
