WOLF CREEK TWP., Pa. (WKBN) – One person is dead after a crash closed all lanes on parts of I-80 in Mercer County. I-80 has been reopened as of 12 p.m.
In a report, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) identified the victim of the two-vehicle accident as Daniel Lee Leinen.
It happened around 4:30 a.m. just east of exit 24, which is the Grove City exit.
Reports say Leinen was changing the driver’s side rear tire of his car when a semi hit him.
He was declared dead on the scene.
511PA Statewide posted an alert to their Twitter around 5:15 a.m. that all westbound lanes of I-80 were closed between exits 29 and 24.
PennDOT was blocking the westbound on-ramp, diverting traffic south on State Route 8.
The coroner was on the scene investigating.
Police say they will release the age and residence of the victim at a later time.
