New Vernon Twp., Pa. (WKBN) – One person is dead after a crash that happened Friday night on I-79 in New Vernon Township.
It all happened last night around 8 p.m. A portion of the interstate was closed for hours due to a crash in the northbound lanes between exit 121 and exit 130.
Police say a Toyota Sienna and a Ford F360 were involved.
The driver and passenger in the Sienna were travelling south when the driver lost control, ending up stuck in the left, northbound lane. The lights on the Sienna stopped working.
The report says the Ford F-360 hit the passenger side of the Sienna.
The passenger, 19-year-old Danielle Duncan, was pronounced dead on scene. The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
As of Saturday morning, all lanes have reopened.
