Convicted Youngstown murderer brought back to court for re-sentencing

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – One of the men convicted in a homicide from almost four years ago was brought back to court Wednesday afternoon to be re-sentenced.

Jason Heard was one of three men originally charged in the shooting death of Thomas Owens.

Although Heard was convicted and sent to prison two years ago, an appeals court found problems with some of the language contained in his original sentence.

Judge Anthony Donofrio fixed that and gave Heard to 28 years to life behind bars — the same term.
