CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) - The Special Needs Holiday Party is a highlight every year for Canfield Local Schools.
The school district's students start asking about it months ahead of the planning.
Amron Lanes opened its doors for this year's get together.
There was plenty of dancing and bowling, along with a special visit from Santa.
James Centofanti played an important role in starting the party. Friday was the 23rd edition.
"He had a special place in his heart for students with disabilities, and he wanted them to have a day where they would be like everywhere else and have a good time, and with that in mind, we continue it on," said Josie Homsey, of Canfield Local Schools.
Before he passed away in 2010, Centofanti started a foundation to help pay for the party for many years into the future.
Canfield has over 300 students with special needs in the district.
