Charges filed against third suspect in New Castle triple homicide

Charges have been filed against the third suspect in a triple homicide that happened in New Castle earlier this week.

Anthony Cooper, Jr., 19, of Michigan, is charged with three counts of criminal homicide, three counts of criminal conspiracy to commit homicide, one count of criminal attempt to commit homicide and one count of firearms carried without a license.

He hasn’t been arrested yet and police are actively looking for him.

Cooper is described as a black man about 5’5″ tall and weighing about 135 pounds.

Steven Procopio, 19, and Jody Hammer, 41, have already been arrested.

Procopio is charged with three counts of criminal homicide, three counts of criminal conspiracy to commit criminal homicide and carrying firearms without a license. His bond was denied.

Investigators said Procopio told them Cooper shot Lawrence Cannon, Nichole Pumphrey and then 10-year-old Amariah as she walked down the stairs.

Procopio told police he thought it was just going to be a robbery, according to a criminal complaint.

One of the children who witnessed the shooting said Procopio shot her mother and sister.

Hammer is charged with one count of obstruction of justice. Police said she knowingly withheld valuable information and drove Cooper to a bus station to get him out of the New Castle area.

Her bond is set at $50,000.
