Junior Women's League of Canfield delivers lunch to police officers

A local organization did its part to make sure first responders in Canfield were recognized on this anniversary of 9/11.

Members of the Junior Women’s League of Canfield delivered lunch to the city’s police and fire departments Tuesday morning.

Organizers said the idea of “giving back” is an important part of the group’s mission, as well as saying thank you to those who serve the community.

“Especially on a day like today when everybody’s remembering something so tragic, it’s even more important to give back to the men and women in uniform. They’ve given so much to their communities — many of them, their lives. It’s just something we feel it’s very important to do,” Tinamarie Gasior said.

Besides providing a meal for the officers and firefighters, league members even gave a container of shredded chicken as a treat for the department’s K9 officer, Rocky.
