Canfield athletic director recovering well after liver transplant

The Canfield athletic director who had a liver transplant on Oct. 29 is in intensive care but doing well.

Greg Cooper is recovering at Cleveland Clinic.They are still waiting to see if Cooper can be released to a recovery facility later in the week.

He is heavily sedated but was trying to talk and wake up, which surprised the nurses.

Dave Crawford, Canfield’s assistant wrestling coach, is the one who donated 65 percent of his liver to Cooper.

Crawford was released from the Cleveland Clinic on Sunday, his 50th birthday.
