BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police are looking for people who broke into a gas station on Market Street in Boardman early Thursday.
Police were called just before 2 a.m. to the Sunoco gas station along Market Street, near Gertrude Avenue.
An officer arrived to find the glass entrance door smashed, but no one was inside.
According to a police report, a lottery machine was knocked over and cigarette boxes were on the floor.
Police reported finding cigarette packs in the parking lot and near a dumpster. Investigators also found a folding knife hammer near the dumpster.
According to the report, surveillance video showed a large rock being thrown through the door, and three people, who appeared to be kids, jump over the counter and fill bags with cigarettes.
A witness reported seeing a blue vehicle driving away from the area with a large dent in the passenger-side door. That vehicle was last seen driving west onto Ridgewood Drive.
