A Youngstown woman faces domestic violence and child endangering charges after a boy reported that she assaulted him at a Boardman motel
The boy called police on March 11 from the Town and Country Motel.
He told police that 35-year-old Lachelle Cantrell had been drinking all day and said he told her that he was scared because “she kept falling over and going to sleep.” He said he told Cantrell that he wanted to leave, but Cantrell started yelling at him and grabbed him around the neck and arms, according to a police report.
The boy was able to break free and run to the bathroom with her cell phone, locking himself inside while he called police, according to the report.
Police said Cantrell was lying on the floor of the motel room when officers arrived. She fell several times when she tried to stand up and she could barely speak, according to the report.
Police said the boy had several scratches and bruises on his neck, shoulders and back.
Children Services was called to make emergency custody arrangements for the boy.
Cantrell was taken to the hospital for treatment and was arrested Friday at the hospital on the charges.
Cantrell posted bond on the charges and is set to appear in court at 9 a.m. April 16.
