The road should be clear Wednesday afternoon along a stretch of Route 82 in Trumbull County but that was not the case earlier in the morning.
The first call came in just after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
A number of drivers discovered what state troopers said was a boulder sitting in the middle of the highway in the eastbound lanes between Howland-Wilson Road and Route 46.
They have no idea how it got there.
By the time our crew arrived, much of the big rock had been moved out of the way but more than half a dozen vehicles were damaged after hitting the boulder — a couple of them severely.
No one was hurt.
