BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley continues to get support from local businesses in its promise to not turn any child away.
Wednesday morning, Boardman Subaru invited Akron Children’s to the dealership for a check presentation.
It totaled a little more than $31,000.
The money was raised during the Subaru Share the Love Campaign in 2018.
Sharon Hrina, vice president of the hospital, said they rely on donors, whether it’s kids with coins or businesses with big checks.
“You know, they drive by and they know they built that building or they helped put that new scanner in and see it’s very… they feel like they’re giving back to the community. So engagement is very important and support is very important,” she said.
Hrina said donations like the one from Boardman Subaru helps them update equipment and keep staffing in place to keep meeting the needs of patients in the community.
