Boardman police officer dies after brief illness

A Boardman police officer has died after a brief illness. 

Officer Heather Dobbins died Friday at the Cleveland Clinic. Boardman’s police chief said doctors found that Dobbins had a brain tumor after she became ill. 

Dobbins joined the Boardman Police Department in January of 2003 and served with distinction for 16 years. 

“Heather will be remembered for her dedication to the community, professionalism, and above all her kindness that she displayed on a daily basis,” read the Facebook post. 

The Police Officers of Ohio’s Facebook page posted its condolences to the Boardman Police Department on its Facebook page.
