BAZETTA Twp., Ohio (WKBN)- Troopers were called to a school bus crash in Bazetta Township Tuesday morning.
According to The Ohio State Highway Patrol, a Lakeview school bus was stopped at a traffic light at about 7:45 a.m. near state routes 305 and 5 when it was hit from behind by the driver of a 2003 Volvo S80.
Three juveniles on the bus reported possible injury, and one was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The driver of the Volvo was not injured, according to the Patrol.
The driver of the Volvo said that fatigue was a contributing factor in the crash.
The Patrol said that based on statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration, approximately 50,000 people are injured every year as a result of drowsy-driving crashes. Always get adequate sleep, and if you get drowsy while driving pull over to take a break.
