Police said the men were armed in each case, but no one was hurt in any of the robberies

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Austintown police say a pair of armed thieves have been busy this month, targeting three businesses in the township. Investigators hope the public can give them information leading to a quick arrest.

The robbers’ most recent target was Speedway on Kirk Road early Sunday morning.

Employee’s 911 call: “I just had a robbery happen and I have a customer in here with me. Took our phones and he took the car.”

That car was the customer’s — a gray 2017 Chevrolet Equinox.

For the last several weeks, Austintown police have been looking for the pair of armed thieves, releasing surveillance photos. The robbers are almost completely covered from head to toe.

“We believe it’s the same suspects,” Det. Jordan Yacovone said.

The thieves have hit Meridian Road Drive Thru and Dollar General on S. Raccoon Road before robbing Speedway over the weekend.

“In all three robberies, there was Black and Milds that were stolen, along with the money, which is consistent,” Yacovone said.

Police believe these same thieves have targeted stores in other communities.

The one thing that seems to change is how the suspects travel. Police said they walked away from Dollar General and drove away from Speedway in the stolen car.

“In the N. Meridian Road incident, they actually rolled up into the drive-thru on a BMW scooter,” Yacovone said.

Police said the men were armed in each case, but no one was hurt in any of the robberies.

For now, detectives are looking to the public for information.

“If you have anything that you think might be of help, please get ahold of us,” Yacovone said.
