CAMPBELL, Ohio (WKBN) – On Wednesday, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio approved Aqua Ohio’s plan to purchase Campbell’s water system.
After the deal is complete, Aqua Ohio will own and operate the city’s waterworks system and provide water service to customers currently served by the city.
The company said the average customer will not see an increase to their monthly water bill. Customers who use less water than average could see a decrease, while those who use more water than average could see a moderate increase.
Aqua Ohio plans to make upgrades to the aging system.
The rates for water customers in Campbell have already been set through the negotiated sale through 2026.
Affected customers will be mailed details about the transition in January.
