AmeriCorps sent a team of workers back to Youngstown to make improvements around the city.
The government-supported civil society program has been sending teams to the Valley for the past decade.
The Oak Team is in town with 10 members from across the country. They have been here for three weeks and have three more weeks to go.
AmeriCorps members make four stops while being involved in the 10-month program.
“People will look upon Youngstown from this work that we’re doing and say, ‘This is a good place to start a new family, a new business,’ and that will really help the community as a whole,” said Daniel Coman from North Carolina.
Members in the group range from 18 to 24-years old.
