The numbers are in from Tuesday night’s fundraiser for Amy Acevedo and her family — the victims in last week’s deadly house fire.
Organizers raised $13,000 at the dinner, which means over 1,000 were sold.
With donations through Mahoning Valley Sojourn to the Past, organizers have raised almost $29,000 so far for the family.
They said they’ve been working directly with the family to keep Acevedo updated.
“We’ve told her about the outpouring of the community. She doesn’t have any idea how much we’ve raised yet,” said Penny Wells, with Mahoning Valley Sojourn to the Past.
Wells said they’ve received donations from people all over the county and the money is still pouring in. The donations will go toward the five children’s funerals and however else the family sees fit.
