“After hours bottle house,” found after multiple shots fired at Warren apartment, police say

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police say a large party in Warren was stopped after multiple shots were fired inside a home.

Police went to a home at the 600 block of Mercer Ave. after reports of shots fired on Sunday around 4 a.m.

Before arriving at the house, officers say they stopped a car near the apartment. Two people from that car were arrested and a gun was taken into evidence.

Officers found five caliber shell casings on the front porch of the home — there was also bullet holes in the porch ceiling.

Police spoke with a man who called himself the caretaker of the home. Officers told the man to end the party inside. They say 75 to 100 people left.

Another shell casing was found inside the apartment, according to police.

Officers say at least three vehicles parked near the house had windows shot out of them. Those cars fled the area.

Police found a long rifle under a cushion in the apartment. They also found multiple baggies with portions, a digital scale, empty bottles of liquor and liquor boxes. Police say it appeared to be an, “after hours bottle house,” operation. The home smelled like marijuana.

The caretaker of the home told officers he would board up the apartment for the owner.

Officers couldn’t identify suspects of the shootings or the owner of the rifle.

No injuries were reported.

According to reports, there was another shooting incident at the same address on April 20.
