Warren police are investigating after a 4-year-old girl was attempting to cross a busy road in Warren on a bicycle.
According to a police report, a woman called police about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday to report that a young girl was trying to cross Route 169 (Niles Road).
As officers were talking with the girl, her mother pulled up in a car. The mother told police that the girl’s father was watching the children at their home on Transylvania Ave. S.E. When police talked to the father, he said he left the 4-year-old outside with her 10-year-old brother while he used the bathroom in the house. He said when he came out the girl was gone.
Police ascertained that the girl had been missing for about 15 minutes. Transylvania Avenue is about one-tenth of a mile away from Route 169, where the girl was attempting to cross the street.
