CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) - A new Cocca's Pizza location opened about a month ago at the intersection of Shields Road and Route 46 in Canfield.
Nick Ludban, regional manager for Cocca's Pizza, says the new shop opened because the company outgrew the old Canfield location.
"We finally started searching for something in Canfield and this spot was open. We kinda had a vision and a dream of what Steve and the family wanted and this is what came about. So, just the awesome service and the customers and the regulars made us outgrow our old location," Ludban said.
They now have double the space, double the ovens and double the coolers.
"Double everything so we can do more service now for the Canfield area," Ludban said.
Mike Sturgeon, manager of the new store, had the chance to build the pizza shop from scratch.
"Our back patio is actually going to be something very unique to the area, two of the walls will actually retract so we can open it up. It'll be open air and I think that'll be pretty exciting once we get that all finished up," Sturgeon said.
He says this new location is far bigger than anything he ever imagined it to be.
"It's unreal. This place is probably the size of the old plaza we were in before," Sturgeon said.
Cocca's Pizza has been around since 1982.
"Mr. and Mrs. Coccas came from Italy and he built our old store on Market Street in Boardman with his bare hands. That location was open about 29-30 years until we renovated the old New York Music building into our Boardman location now," Ludban said.
Cocca's Pizza now has eight locations.
"We're kinda looking to come to the next location in your backyards," Ludban said.
