YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - A few local businesses have joined forces to help the community out in several ways.
Forever Me, a women's empowerment group, has teamed with Vallourec and Kadi, formerly known as Valley Delivered Goods, to help the community out in several ways.
On Saturday morning the businesses along with volunteers began packing browned paper bag lunches and passing them out to the community.
Kasondra Davis, one of the owners of Kadi and founder of Forever Me, said they are passing the bags out all over the city, including at the Rescue mission, Arlington Heights, Rockford village, the WRTA bus station, as well as to anyone just walking down the street.
The clothing giveaway will begin at noon until 4 p.m and will be held at Wedgewood Park Church, 1944 Meridian Road Youngstown, OH 44511.
There will be baby clothes, men’s, women’s and kids clothes available. Davis said they want people to come get the clothes if they need them.
This is the second year they are doing the event known as 'Hashtag Lunchbag'.
"We believe that we rise up by lifting others. One important aspect in life is to make an impact and serve others so we wanted to do something for the community to put a smile on someone’s face and help take away any burden," Davis said.
