LEBANON, Ohio (WJW) — City officials have passed an ordinance making Lebanon a “sanctuary city for the unborn,” WLWT reports.

According to the news outlet, Lebanon City Council passed an ordinance banning abortions and abortion-inducing drugs unanimously Tuesday evening.

Lebanon is reportedly the first city in Ohio to ban abortions.

WLWT says the ordinance makes providing an abortion a first-degree misdemeanor and could result in a $1,000 fine or six months in jail.
