Kasich prepares SOS address, talks presidential bid

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) — Two-term Ohio Governor John Kasich has been considering a run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.

He spent some time last week in South Carolina, an early primary state.Officially, he’s calling for a balanced budget amendment, a project he’s been working on for years.

However, he is also tiptoeing around the possibility a bid for the White House.

“I’m not saying I won’t, I’m not saying I will. I’m leaving my options out there and we’ll just see how things develop,” said Kasich.

Other possible Republican contenders have been establishing contacts in South Carolina recently including Florida Senator Marco Rubio and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Before he makes a decision about national office, though, Governor Kasich has state business to take care of; specifically, the annual State of the State address.
